The aim of this workshop is to present and discuss the usage of virtual & remote laboratories aids to support e-learning environments. Applications to education and training in the electrical and computer engineering domain are foreseen (namely in the areas of automation, control, robotics, telecommunications, instrumentation and electrical machines, among others).

The workshop topics include (but are not limited to):
  Added value to open and distance learning provided by remote & virtual laboratories
  New curricula elaboration supported by remote & virtual laboratories
  Comparison between simulation, emulation and real workbenches through local and remote usage
  Technologies used to create new e-learning virtual & remote laboratories integrated in the e-learning environment
  Specific topics of distance learning
  Management of e-Learning networks
  Remote reconfiguration of laboratory workbenches - the way towards innovation
  Educational software and hardware
  e-learning environment functions and facilities
