Brief Bio
Kurosh Madani is graduated in fundamental physics in June 1985 from PARIS 7 – Jussieu University. He received his MSc. in Microelectronics and chip architecture from University PARIS 11 (PARIS-SUD), Orsay, France, in September 1986. Received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from University PARIS 11 (PARIS-SUD), Orsay, France, in February 1990. In 1995, he received the DHDR Doctor Hab. degree (senior research doctorate degree) from University PARIS 12 – Val de Marne. He works as Chair Professor in Electrical Engineering of Senart-FB Institute of Technology of University PARIS-EST Creteil (
UPEC), France. From 1992 to 2000 he has been creator and head of DRN (Neural Networks Division) research group. From 2001 to 2004 he has been head of Intelligence in Instrumentation and Systems Laboratory (I2S / JE 2353) of UPEC. Co-creator of Images, Signals and Intelligent Systems Laboratory (LISSI / EA 3956) of UPEC in 2005, head of Intelligent Machines & Systems” research team of LISSI, he is also Vice-director of this laboratory. He has worked on both digital and analog implementation of massively parallel processors arrays for image processing, electro-optical random number generation, and both analog and digital Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) implementation. His current research interests include: - Complex structures and behaviors modeling, - self-organizing, modular and hybrid neural based information processing systems and their real-world and industrial applications, - humanoid and collective robotics - intelligent fault detection and diagnosis systems.

Janan Zaytoon is a Professor at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. He is the Immediate-Past President of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), the Past Director of the French national research network/group “GDR MACS of CNRS”, the vice-chair of the IFAC Foundation, and the founding director of the CReSTIC research centre of the University of Reims. His work is related to the areas of discrete-event systems, hybrid systems, and intelligent control systems. He published and edited 52 books, conference proceedings and special journals issues. He also published 60 journal papers, 126 confe
rence papers, and 6 patents. He was the advisor of 18 PhD students and 5 “Habilitations”.
Janan Zaytoon was the co-founding Editor-in-Chief of the IFAC Journal Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems. He is an Associate Editor of Control Engineering Practice. He chaired 17 international conferences and 12 national conferences. He Chaired the IFAC Technical Committee on Discrete-Event and Hybrid Systems, and received the IFAC Outstanding Service Award and the 2014 Paper Prize of the Journal of Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence. He has been invited plenary speaker for 8 international conferences.

Oleg Gusikhin is a Technical Leader at Ford Global Data, Insight and Analytics (GDI&A) Organization. Before joining GDI&A, he was the Manager and Technical Leader of the Advanced Connected Services and Mobility Applications Department at Ford Research & Advanced Engineering. He received his Ph.D. from the St. Petersburg Institute of Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences, an MS in Electrical Engineering from St. Petersburg State Technical University, and an MBA from the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan. For over 20 years, he has been working at Ford M
otor Company in different functional areas. During his tenure at Ford, Dr. Gusikhin has been involved in the design and implementation of advanced information technology and intelligent control for manufacturing and vehicle systems. Dr. Gusikhin is a Fellow of INFORMS and a Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management by the American Production and Inventory Control Society. He is a recipient of three Henry Ford Technology Awards, 2014 INFORMS Daniel H. Wagner Prize and the 2009 Institute of Industrial Engineers Transactions Best Application Paper Prize in Scheduling and Logistics. He is an Industry Vice-Chair of IFAC Technical Committee "Manufacturing Modeling for Management and Control,” and a Lecturer in the Industrial and Operations Engineering department at the University of Michigan.
